El Salvador Day 6

So, we started the day with rounding on patients from the previous day and ensured that everyone was stable and ready to go home.  All was well except for a few cast changes.

The Rotary had a little surprise scheduled for our day of R & R here in El Salvador.  We ventured out for about an hour an a half to Caloca for food, pool time and a tour of the local hot springs.  It was quite an experience and a well needed day of relaxation after a full week of surgery.

El Salvador Day 5

Last day of surgery and what a week!  We’ve seen so much pathology and treated so many kids.  It’s truly an amazing experience to be able help in all of these children’s lives.  It’s a great few days.  Truly life changing.

Tonight we all went out for dinner before bits of the group headed home.  We went out for some great food and then to a local pub for karaoke.  Was a great night.
